COMMENTS FROM OUR PATRONS & MEMBERS

My wife and I joined with my niece and her husband on Saturday 3 July to see Romeo & Juliet (2010). We would like to pass on our very best wishes to all the actors, actresses and staff behind the scenes who all contributed to making it a wonderful night. We thought that the costumes were outstanding and the quality of the acting was second to none. I have no idea how much hard work goes into such a production, and how they all remember their lines is beyond me. Even the weather played its part – when we came to see The Taming of the Shrew in 2008 we got soaked during the 2nd part of that night’s performance! Again many thanks for really fantastic night. Best wishes.
Mick Foster.

Just wanted to say I enjoyed your performance of Romeo and Juliet (2010) very much on Saturday night. It was obvious you had all put so much time and hard work into putting on the performance.  It was very much appreciated. Thank you for a most enjoyable evening and hope to see you again next year.
Dawn Adams.

Fantastic! Best production we've seen in years.
Patron speaking about Merchant of Venice 2009.

Absolutely bloody brilliant!
Ann Hickman.

Great performance this year (2009). Might like to have seen Roger (Shylock) with just a few more Jewish features (perhaps closer to his Richard III!). Just the right feel and just the right setting.
Roy & Rachel Chapman.

Thank you so much for a wonderful night of entertainment. 'Merchant' was very well done, despite the weather trying its best to put you off. It did of course mean the plastic macs were out in force. Hard to pick out individuals, so I won't - well done to all. All the very best and good luck for the future.
Pete Burton, Hampshire.

What another great evening. Clumber's latest production of 'The taming of the Shrew' certainly came up to their usual high standard of acting. I thought both Petrucio (Roger Westwood) and Katerina (Trudi Jackson) were outstanding. Even the weather obliged on this occasion, as after an almost tropical downpour at six o'clock, the skies cleared and we were able to enjoy the beautiful setting in the comfort of a dry and balmy evening. Thank you Clumber Players. Please keep up the good work.
Margaret Colville.

We came to Clumber last night (3rd July) and I'm just writing to say what a good time we had. Normally we would avoid Shakespeare - it being 'too hard' for us - but this we could fully understand and enjoy! An excellent performance all round.
Janet Roberts.

Fantastic evening. Brilliant. Thank you and congratulations to everybody. We will certainly come again.

Thank you very much. It was a lovely performance and we had a wonderful time. Unknown.

Just wanted to say thank you for an enthralling night's entertainment. There are many strong actors in the cast.
Nina & Richard.

I thought I'd write to let you know how much I and my friends enjoyed your production of Richard III - it was fantastic! You must have all worked so hard to have performed so well. It was a memorable evening!
Phyllis.

I would just like to say how fantastic it is to see that the Clumber Players are still performing, going strong and keeping the works of Shakespeare alive. To the Players of Clumber, may your passion and enthusiasm continue to thrive.
Caroline Stuckey.

Just wanted to say that we thoroughly enjoyed Richard III - our G.P. should have prescribed it - we were absorbed and 'diverted' for the duration. Thanks.
Helen & Kate Walker.

My many thanks to you all for a wonderful way of introducing me to live Shakespeare plays.
John Keen.

Watched the opening performance - what a night! Absolutely fantastic show, the night was balmy and warm, the setting perfect. Congratulations to all involved. Do we really have to wait a whole year for the next production?
Steve Henshall, Merseyside.

I'm not sure if you will remember me - I performed with the Players for 5 seasons I think, starting with Midsummer Night's Dream and ending with Hamlet. I seem to have stumbled across this fabulous website researching images for my latest MA performance and find myself rather engrossed looking through old photos and reminiscing. I have now finished my BA in Liverpool (I got a first in Drama and Theatre) and am currently studying for my Masters at Chester in Performance. Thanks for keeping me on the books (so to speak), I can't really remember having that photo taken, but I hope to come back and be a part of the Clumber Players again one day, if you would have me? My parents have now moved out of Worksop and I don't get home as often as I would like...being an honorary Scousser now after 5 years, I've pretty much got the accent down! Anyway, it was lovely to read up on what you guys are up, good luck for rehearsals for this summer, I will definitely try to get home and catch a show. The Clumber Players have and always will hold a special place in my life and heart, you have had a major effect on my future acting career, thank you for that. All my love.
Laura Hall.
